Hello My Name Is...
Mardee Miller
Hi! I’m Mardee Miller, excited beyond measure to be able to serve as the principal at Howard Connect Academy. I came to Chattanooga in September 2018 from the Oak Ridge Schools for one reason, to be a part of transforming the way we do middle grade learning for a diverse community of learners.
My career in education has afforded me a variety of perspectives within the field. I have been a classroom teacher, teaching all grades 1st-6th, a district level curriculum specialist, a college level instructor, coordinator, assistant principal and principal. Every experience has helped grow my professional knowledge and has continued to inspire my passion for student learning and success. I have also taken a keen interest in national and global education platforms and serve as a national associate for Mathematical Perspective Staff Develop Center working with school districts all over the country.
The opportunity to break the mold of what a middle school education can be is a dream job for me. To work with an amazing team of learning designers to create a space where our diverse community learns to collaborate, communicate and solve real world problems in a fun, safe and accepting learning environment is a challenge I fully embrace!
